About
Game Club
How It Started
When growing up my family would play board and card games all the time. It was something I looked forward to and it helped me learn a variety of things growing up while making new friends at college and university. I always wished that I had a game club in school growing up. I wanted to bring the love of games to kids and I knew this was my opportunity to do so, just a few years later than planned! I started to get some feelers out to the students to see who would be interested which turned into a big buzz around campus. We did not expect to get 84 sign up sheets back, but we couldn't be happier.

Purpose
Our goal is to have fun while learning and making new friends. We want to bring the community back into the schools. We play family friendly table top, board, and card games to develop critical thinking, math skills, social skills, creativity. We hope to bring a sense of ownership and inclusion in our student community. We want the community we live in to be more involved in the school system. We want families to spend more time with kids actually eye to eye, and not so much digitally as our world becomes more digitally based. This helps promote more positive social skills that we are getting less and less of in our world.
